Hell Is But A Place On Earth
Recently learned how to term poems that read both ways — Palindrome Poetry. Going to have a go at this. Hope it works. Enjoy everyone.
Hell is but a place on Earth
On a ball of dirt that gave us life
We hope to finally find our worth
By slaving eternally at our nine to five
The lucky ones have a shorter run
Living a lie and refusing the signs
The truth is that we only lived to die
Those who know would know this rhyme.
In this Hell we know as Earth
You only hoped that you were loved
The truth is only what you see
With your mind’s eye, the lie persists
Watched the charade and chose to be blind
You bow to those who would throw you some coins
Just silently quitting, quietly resigned
Those who know would know this rhyme
You died long ago, a lit candle that couldn’t glow
You tried your best at treading to float
A lifetime you then spent trying to sew
You reached the end, a tattered soul
